G1 vs T1: two compact humanoids, different development packages

Compare the standard robots separately from their expanded hand and joint configurations.

Source review: 21 October 2026 · Manufacturer claims are not independent test results.

Scale and articulation

Standard G1 is listed at 1,320 mm, about 35 kg with battery and 23 degrees of freedom.

The latest bounded T1 source check did not reverify a readable configuration-specific specification table. T1 scalar dimensions, mass and total articulation are omitted from the catalogue; request the current technical sheet for the quoted hardware.

Developer claims are not interchangeable

Booster advertises API interfaces, an open-source framework and development tools. This is manufacturer positioning, not evidence that every control mode or source component is included in every package.

Unitree separates G1 from EDU and documents multiple EDU configurations. A standard G1 quote should not be treated as a like-for-like developer package without checking access.

A research-led purchasing decision

Ask both suppliers to run the intended control or manipulation workload on the exact quoted hardware. Verify low-level access, simulation compatibility, emergency-stop behaviour and repair arrangements.

Size and joint count alone do not establish robustness, teaching value or task performance. Current pricing, lead times and local support were not verified.
